Privacy
Corbula tools process your files inside your web browser. This page describes what the current version actually does.
Your files
- Files you open are read by JavaScript running on your device. Their contents, names, extracted text and previews are not uploaded to any server.
- Files are kept in memory only while the page is open. Nothing is written to browser storage, and closing or reloading the tab discards them.
- The files you download are created in your browser. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the network and the tools keep working.
What the server sees
Loading the site downloads its pages, scripts and fonts from the web server like any website, and the server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, requested URL, browser user agent). These logs never contain your files, because your files are never sent.
To draw some PDFs correctly, the viewer may download a standard font or character-map data file from this site (for example the outline data for Helvetica when a PDF uses it without embedding it). Such a request names only the data file, not your document.
Analytics and cookies
Corbula uses Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC / Google Ireland) to count visits, only if you click “Accept” in the analytics banner. Until then the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all and nothing is sent to Google. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, that counts as “No thanks” and no banner is shown.
After you accept, Google Analytics receives:
- page views: the page address, the referring page, and your browser, device and approximate location as derived by Google;
- tool usage events with counts only, such as “a PDF was opened (3 pages)” or “a PDF was exported (12 strokes)”. They never include file contents, file names, text from your files or drawing coordinates.
Google Analytics then sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to recognise repeat visits. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. Google may process the data in the United States. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage (not in a cookie). You can change it at any time with; declining after accepting deletes the analytics cookies.
There are no advertising scripts and no other cookies.
